How to Drop a Pin on Google Maps

Drop a Pin on Google Maps

Access any location faster by pinning it in Google Maps

The problem with Google Maps is that, unlike conventional maps, it isn’t useful for simple point-to-point navigation. Numerous other elements enhance the whole experience. Google Maps offers everything from real-time traffic and route information to travel times and public transportation routes.
The pinning option is one of the elements that frequently goes overlooked but shouldn’t. A location can be temporarily saved and made easily accessible by being pinned. In general, it’s preferable to pin a location when it lacks an address, is off the beaten path, or when Google Maps gets it wrong. However, you can pin any place you desire to visit. A pinned location can also be saved, shared, or used to receive instructions.

Dropping a Pin on the Mobile App

Open the Google Maps app on your mobile phone, iPhone or Android. Then, either find the location by scrolling up and down the map or find the address by typing it in the search bar.
